Qingxin Baozhong 2022
'Which way does it pull thee?'—sitting somewhere between a lightly oxidized oolong, or a strongly oxidized green, this tea invites a tasting of another kind. May its flavor suggest its true essence: a brew in the color of honeydew wafting in the mouthwatering scent of buttered corn and the flowers of a wild meadow. Its spindly leaves are twisted in the traditional paper-wrapped processing of Baozhong and are only slightly oxidized to preserve the mineral-forward, vegetal characteristics of an aquatic plant. In certain traces it is green, then oolong again, suggesting that the relationship is more than what meets the eye—or the palate.
