Mei Zhan Hong Cha
Crafted from the Mei Zhan cultivar—traditionally associated with aromatic oolong teas—this black tea draws on a lineage known for its refined, expressive character. Here, the leaf is guided toward a different profile, with oxidation and an absence of roasting revealing a softer, more nuanced dimension.
The infusion opens with a gentle floral brightness, layered with citrus tones that bring clarity to the cup, while a restrained maltiness provides subtle structure beneath. Notes of kumquat carry through the finish, joined by a light savory nuttiness reminiscent of roasted soybean, all set against a delicate hint of orange blossom.
Light-footed yet expressive, it offers a composed interplay of fruit, flower, and grain—an elegant interpretation of Mei Zhan in black tea form.

For best results in gongfu cha, brew in the traditional gaiwan or in a Yixing teapot. Too high water temperature would burn the leaves, resulting in bitter taste.
